Seye – White Noise (Eng)

Thanks to the britisch music magazine NME, due to there „10 Tracks To Hear This Week“ I catched attention to my next recommendation. Seye Adelekan convinced me with his catchy song „White Noise“ immediately. After the first listen I was really surprised, the song didn’t get out of my head and the result was that I listened to it again and again.
The brother of the famous bass guitarist from Metronomy fascinates with the great, innovative and unexpective sound. The perfectly constituted drums are giving the song an special inherent dynamism. The extra highlight, the change between real drum-elements and electronically produced ones. Beside to it the outstanding parts are stressed by the synths, which also round off the whole song. Especially the deeper synths evoke to popular dance- and dubstep-songs.
But there is also another point that sticks out, namely the voice of Seye. Straightaway you hear that it is warped electronically, but this isn’t worse, because this fits perfectly to the whole concept of the work.
All in all the 21 year old British proves a lot of courage. Through the combination of different elements and sounds he creates an individual style, with an african touch. The gained experience from the cooperation with musicians like Ellie Goulding and Paloma Faith has paid off. It only remains to add, hopefully he will release more songs like that in the future! ;)
